BOOT CUPBOARD
- 1925
Made from Cuban mahogany, and featuring veneered blockboard doors, this design anticipated the utilitarian furniture of the 1940s and the simple, geometric designs of the 1950s.
The piece has received attention from historians and has been highlighted for its importance not just to the company, but British design more generally. It also signified Gordon’s shift towards a different design style to that of the Arts and Crafts movement.
